Meet Dr. Leroy Wray, Jr., a seasoned educator with a rich background spanning over two decades. His multifaceted roles include elementary classroom teacher, school administrator, professor, grant consultant, and president and founder of the Prodigal Son Foundation. Commencing his journey in 2002 in Durham, North Carolina, Dr. Wray’s overarching mission is centered on the education, empowerment, and engagement of students for success. Drawing from personal experiences, he generously imparts effective educational strategies tailored for both teachers and parents, offering valuable insights for regaining control.

BACKGROUND & ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Academically accomplished, Dr. Wray holds a Doctor of Education in School Administration and Leadership from Gardner-Webb University, a Master of Arts in Educational Technology, and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from North Carolina Central University. A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, he currently resides in the city with his wife and two children.

Dr. Wray, also known as Dr. Lorenzo Johnson, Jr., serves as the Chief Operating Officer of WJ Consulting, LLC, established in 2021. WJ Consulting is dedicated to addressing learning and academic loss among K-12 students providing leadership and training support to schools, higher education institutions, and corporate businesses. Dr. Johnson, with a background teaching in elementary education in challenging settings and various administrative roles in urban school districts, brings a wealth of experience to the table.

As the COO, Dr. Johnson introduces Leadership Frameworks and Organizational Development strategies, extending his expertise to K-12 district administrators and executive leaders nationwide. His commitment to inclusivity and respect for all students earned him the 2022 Distinguished Leadership Program for Principals award, sponsored by the North Carolina Principals and Assistant Principals’ Association. Dr. Johnson is also a contributing author to two notable books: “Hope in Him” and “BFF: Black Father Figures.”. Drawing from personal experiences, he generously imparts effective educational strategies tailored for both teachers and parents, offering valuable insights for regaining control. He openly shares practical and useful strategies for teaching, ones that work for both teachers and parents.
